International Roadcheck 2015 Set for June 2 – 4

The 28th annual International Roadcheck, the largest targeted enforcement program on commercial trucks and vehicles, will take place June 2 – 4. International Roadcheck 2015

According to the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA), about 17 trucks, including those hauling over-dimensional loads, or buses will be inspect every minute nationwide during the 72-hour period.

The annual three-day promotes vehicle, driver and cargo safety and security through certified inspections. Since 1988 the road checks have helped save lives and avoid injuries. According to the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA), failure to properly secure cargo or equipment is the fourth leading category of violations, which result in a vehicle being placed OOS (Out-of-Service).

Public safety and awareness will also be promoted through this initiative.

The CVSA alongside the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration work together to make the event happen. Canadian and Mexican organizations will also participate.
