Several states have announed toll increases, effective on or just after Jan. 1, 2016, which affect oversize load travel.
Most increases were calculated to offset maintenane costs.
Here is a list of toll increases, although keep in mind any other changes can be referenced on each state’s toll service website:
- Colorado; E-470 has a 10-cent increase, while ramp tolls went up 5 cents. Toll servive site, www.expresstoll.com
- Ohio: A 2.7 percent increase was effective Jan. 1. Visit www.ohioturnpike.org for more info.
- Illinois: 10 percent increase effective Jan. 1. Toll servive site, www.illinoistollway.com
- Maryland; This state has a decrease in toll rates to $2/axles for commercial drivers with E-Z pass. Toll service site, www.mdta.maryland.gov
- North Carolina; The state tolls will increase by 13 cents between NC Highway 147 at Interstate 40 and the NC Highway 55 bypass, made effective Jan. 1. Toll servie site, www.myncquickpass.com
- Pennsyvania: 6 percet increase effective Jan. 1. Toll service site, www.PATurnpike.com
- Virgina: $4 increase on the Pocahontas Parkway at the Main Plaza and to $2.25 at the Laburnum/New Market and Airport Drive ramp toll points effective Jan. 4. Toll service site, www.virginiadot.org
